Key Responsibilities :
- Collaborate with the design-build team from project conception to completion.
- Communicate closely with planning departments and permit authorities.
- Report regularly on Job Cost, monitoring costs, and maintaining/exceeding estimated margins.
- Issue subcontracts, purchase orders, change orders, and detail scope assessments.
- Conduct detailed shop drawing reviews and coordination.
- Lead project site meetings and distribute minutes promptly.
- Establish budget controls and work closely with Accounts Payable/Receivable.
- Ensure quality control, adherence to safety regulations, and project progress in line with company standards.
- Maintain effective communication with clients on project aspects, schedule, billing, and changes.
Requirements:
- 10 years of experience in the construction industry, with 7 years of project management experience.
- Diploma or degree in Construction Engineering or equivalent education/experience.
- Clear understanding of the building codes for the medium industrial construction industry.
- Ability to coordinate and oversee projects in the $500,000 to $30 million range.
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license and a clean abstract.
- Positive attitude, excellent interpersonal skills, and an eagerness to learn.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced verbal and written communication skills, and effective organizational and time management expertise.
- Proficient in computerized job-costing, Office 365; CAD skills are an asset.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex negotiations.
